APRI's research currently focuses on the topics listed below.

Pulse Detonation Engines - A cutting-edge aeropulse engine design. Provides thrust densities and efficiencies similar to that of small turbojet engines at a fraction of the cost.

Laser Induced Thermal Acoustics - A laser diagnostic capable of non-intrusive instantaneous measurement of the pressure and density of a gas at a point.

High-voltage high-power battery systems - Addresses the problems associated with using large numbers of rechargable batteries together within a high voltage pack.
